So once again we teamed up to make this shoot happen. It was a beautiful/ hot day, but we had so much fun running around and getting the shots. Also with us was another photographer Usman Butt from AhmadPhotography. A Visit to the Great Outdoors

smoky mountains trip (1)
It all started by me winning a 3 day 2 night stay at  any Westgate Resorts last year. Thankfully Westgate has a resort in Tennesse, so that’s where I decided to go because of the proximity to the Smoky Mountains. And that’s how this trip begun. Josh and I took a full weekend off in May and made our road trip to one of the most visited National Parks in the US. It took us about 10hrs to reach our destination that included 3 stops for bathrooms and snack breaks. I love the outdoors, it’s where I feel most happy. Visiting this place has been at the top of my bucket list for a long time, so I knew that this trip was going to be amazing. It was an honor to be able to photograph this beautiful place. smoky mountains trip (2)

smoky mountains trip (5)     smoky mountains trip (6) smoky mountains trip (10) Since our trip was short to only 3 days we had to decide on where to go, knowing me I wanted to do everything but the time was not enough. The first night we stayed in Gatlinburg a small city with  lots of restaurant, attractions, entertainment  and souvenir shops. Josh and I joked around that this place looked just like International Dr., Orlando FL. One of the best parts of this small town is all the breweries and distilleries and the free samples of moonshine you can get. Just kidding, I’m not an alcoholic but it was fun to try so many flavors of moonshine. The first night was so much fun.

It’s only a one mile hike. It was just beautiful I couldn’t believe I was at the Smoky Mountains. We also went to the Noah “Bud” Ogle Place, a cabin from the first settlers. It’s incredible that this cabin is still standing it’s been preserved by the National Park. We also drove through the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. It consists of a very narrow street through the mountains with scenic views of the beautiful Smokys. Josh was having fun driving like we were on a race, taking sharp turns like we were on fast and the furious. Until we would catch to a car and  Josh would have to start driving like a real person. smoky mountains trip (20)

It was my first time getting on one of this things and it was so much fun and scary at the same time. They were not too secured only a little bar surrounded you and stopped you from falling to your death, but we made it to the top and it had the most amazing view of Gatlingburg and the stunning mountains.  That same night we went to another moonshine distillery like I said before we are not alcoholics, but who doesn’t like free samples of the best moonshine in town.smoky mountains trip (39) smoky mountains trip (42) smoky mountains trip (45) smoky mountains trip (46) smoky mountains trip (47) smoky mountains trip (49) smoky mountains trip (51) smoky mountains trip (53) The next morning Josh had a surprise for me, he took me horseback riding. It was my first time riding a horse on my own. It was an awesome experience. We took the 1hr 1/2 route and it was so worth it we saw beautiful scenic views and we just enjoyed nature. We also saw a black bear which was pretty awesome. Unfortunately I don’t have pictures of the bear but it’s all in my photographic memory. due to all that horseback riding my legs were soar for about three days and for a few minutes after getting off the horse I walked like a real cowboy (lol). That same day our adventure followed to the Grotto Falls. It was a 3 mile hike to this beautiful fall. This is the only natural fall at the park that you can walk behind it. There were many salamanders on the rocks close to the water, I thought they were disgusting but “hey” that’s nature. smoky mountains trip (54) smoky mountains trip (56)  grotto falls (1) smoky mountains trip (64) smoky mountains trip (72) smoky mountains trip (73) smoky mountains trip (74) smoky mountains trip (75) The next morning our last day in Tennessee we woke up around 4am because we were planning on watching the sunrise from Clingmans Dome. In those early hours of the morning there is so much fog that it was very difficult to drive through. It took us a good hour to get to Clingmans Dome then we hiked the paved road for about a mile to the top of the actual Dome itself. It was so cold up there about 40 degrees and I had a very thin jacked that didn’t keep me warm at all. Once at the top all I could see was fog. To be honest I thought that I wasn’t gonna be able to see the sunrise because it was already close to the sunrise time at the Smokys and nothing was clear. I didn’t loose hope and kept searching for some clear view and soon enough the fog cleared out a bit and I saw a bit of orange in the sky, it was the most beautiful view. After a couple of minutes the sun started rising and I was speechless. The view was breathtaking , the clouds were above the mountains and you can see them moving like a big sea. It was just amazing it was the perfect ending to our small vacation.

12hrs later we were back in Florida.

Blue Springs

Went to one of the Springs here in Florida called Blue Springs. The day was gorgeous and hot enough to enjoy the cold water of the spring. It was amazing I went with my husband and a couple of my friends, we had  blast.   We cooked ribs, burgers and chicken on the grills, it was delish.

Here are some of my favorite shots.

tiny beach gettaway

Went to Cocoa beach yesterday just for the evening. A very unplanned trip just because I told my husband I didn’t want to stay in the house after a long day at work. So he just started driving ad ended up at Cocoa beach.  I love my husband, spontaneous things like this are just awesome. We ate a the pier and then went down to the beach and walked for a bit. Then we went back home. 45min drive not bad =)

Like always I had my camera with me so this are some of the photos I took.

Free Spirited

sun-drenched series (47)

Last week I had the pleasure to work with Stephanie Jerez. We’ve been planning to shoot together for a very long time and it finally happened. I was very excited to collaborate with this beautiful lady because she has such an amazing personality and fresh face that I knew she was the perfect model to portray my vision for this shoot. She arrived at my house at about 9am and from there we started to put together some of the outfits that were going to work perfectly. Then came hair and make up, she has beautiful long hair so there wasn’t much to do and I wanted the hair to be loose. She did her own make-up, I didn’t want anything too drastic just something natural that would look great with the carefree look I had in mind. Carefree but still beautiful.  The idea for this shoot came from my love for freedom and being comfortable. Also from the bohemian/vintage style I’ve been seeing all around lately in festivals such as Bonnaroo and Coachella  just to name a few.  This style has made comeback into the 21st century and I love it.

We arrived at our first location around 11am and the sun was already very high up in the sky, so trying to shoot with the sharp/hot sun was a bit tough but everything came together. We then drove to our second and final location and it was beautiful  so close to nature and a boardwalk, it was perfect. There was a lot more shade at this location which made things way easier it was still hot Florida weather, but we still had  a lot of fun. Music was a big part of this shoot, we got to relax and have a good time while taking the pictures. Music truly made this shoot a lot more fun and enjoyable it made me forget about the hot weather.

Here are a few of my favorites.

Accomplishments

This post is dedicated to my good friend Johan Colon who just graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Graphic Design. When he asked me to take his senior portraits I couldn’t say no, I had to do this and get it right. He was very precise on the locations he wanted to take the pictures at, so two days before graduation we went to the main campus and made it happen.  We first went to Lake Claire, it was such a pretty day and the  location fitted perfectly with the ideas we wanted to accomplished. Our second location was the Meditation Garden inside the Burnett Honors College, it was my first time visiting this garden. It was’t a big garden but it was very pretty and we were able to capture some cute shots surrounded by nature. Our third location was a must, inside the Student Union there’s the well-known UCF seal on the floor. Every student knows best not to stand on it because if  they do they will never graduate. Johan however did stood on it, he even lay on it and still graduated, I guess the curse doesn’t work on students wearing their cap and gowns?. =D Our fourth and  final location took place at the famous Reflecting Pond, when we arrived it had been shut off for cleaning, but as we were leaving it was turned on for a bout 1 minute before it was shut off again. That was  plenty of time to take a few shots, so we covered all four locations in about 2 hours with a few off location shots. I was so happy that Johan picked me to take his photos, I had so much fun taking them. Here are some of my favorite. Fitness is everything

A couple of days ago my best  friend asked me to shoot some photos of her to promote her new business. She has been a pharmacist for about 10 years, but sports medicine has always been her  first love. I of course said “yes” an opportunity to see this woman in action. She is such an inspiration.  Here is a full set of images that i took. I had an amazing time.

Had an amazing time shooting with this beautiful girl. We’ve been planning to shoot together for awhile and something always comes up that it never happens so finally after almost two years since our first shoot together, it finally happen. Can’t wait to shoot with her again. My living room has some beautiful lighting that all the indoor photos were taken there and the outdoor ones were taken around my house. It’s such a beautiful location. It’s been pretty cold but the weather was perfect that day.
